I’m Adam Harris, an Australian clinical psychologist and life coach supporting expats in Amsterdam. With over 13 years of global experience, I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families navigate relationship challenges, trauma recovery, mental health struggles, burnout, and personal growth. If you’re looking for professional, evidence-based support in Amsterdam, I’m here to help.
I’m Adam, a Clinical Psychologist from Australia living the expat life in Amsterdam with my young family. Over the past 13 years, I’ve helped individuals, couples, and families navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout and stress, while also focusing on building mental fitness and overall well-being.
My approach incorporates evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and I have expertise in trauma recovery, parenting strategies, and couples therapy using the Gottman Method.
My experience spans private practice, working with high-performing individuals in the Australian Defence Force and, supporting families in the not-for-profit sector. As a life coach I work with individuals to enhance their mental resilience, and personal potential, and recover from burnout.
My approach to therapy and life coaching in Amsterdam, whether online or in-person, is tailored to your unique needs—whether you’re seeking individual therapy, couples counseling, or coaching for burnout, performance, and major life transitions.
We start with a chat and an online assessment to help identify your key concerns, your goals and areas for growth.
In our first therapy or coaching session, we explore the context of your challenges, their impact on your life, and what you hope to achieve.
In subsequent sessions, we look deeper into your past experiences, allowing me to develop a personalized, evidence-based treatment plan. Depending on your needs, this may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, or other research-based strategies; working through these together.
For those seeking relationship therapy or marriage counselling, I follow the Gottman Method, which we can discuss in our first session.
My goal is to create a calm, supportive space for you to gain clarity, work through challenges, and apply practical tools that fit your life.
